Mumbai Nights !!

Image
You're sitting at your window pane. The full moon night with stars adding the glam to the wonderful sky! It's 13 minutes past 2:00am i.e. basically right now! You see the roads of this city that never sleeps. Yes, MUMBAI it is! A group of p eople walking home with their loud talks followed by laughter most of the times. The cars at the speed of 70 km/hr and the bikes at 90. And the planes flying on this Silent Sunday night. You're just listening to some music like I'm doing it, "Iktara" from one of my best movies "wake up S!D" The silent night. Cold breeze. And the moment when you're missing out some of the best persons of your life! Is the feeling you've never ever had other than sleeping beside your parents or holding your lover's hand! — feeling wonderful . Spl thanks to , Aman Shah . Thank You for Reading, From Hetansh Shah a.k.a Hetu !~! :]

The Herd Instinct

You are on your way to a concert. At an intersection , you encounter a group of people , all staring at the sky. Without even thinking about it, you peer upwards too. Why? Social proof. In the middle of the concert, when the soloist is displaying absolute mastery, someone begins to clap and suddenly the whole room joins in. You do too. Why?  Social proof. After the concert is over, you see people in front place a coin on a plate, even though, officially, the service is included in ticket price. What do you do? You probably leave a tip as well. Social proof, sometimes roughly termed as Herd Instinct , dictates that individuals feel they are behaving when act as the same as other people. In other words, more people who follow a certain idea, better we deem the idea to be.  Social proof is evil behind bubbles and stock market panic. It exists in fashion, management techniques, hobbies, religion and diets. It can paralyse whole cultures, such as when sects commit collective...

The Mask

Image
"It was one of the worst winters back then, a small bird was flying in this cold weather. The snow fall started. It couldn't sustain the weather and fell down on the ground awaiting death. After few minutes a bull came by and dropped its dung on that bird. The bird felt disgusted by that act but the warmth of the dung made the bird survive. It started screeching for help. A nearby cat heard it, removed the bird from the mess, cleaned it, and ATE IT."  That is how life is .. The unexpected happens time and again. We learn two things from this story. 1) Not everything that disgusts you is bad for you. 2) Not everyone that helps is your friend. We have entered the era of " THE MASK ". There is a mask on every face around you. A very few examples are below. Rest, I believe you will have to figure out yourself and identify which mask suits you and which mask you should be wearing. Sometimes people fake faces in order to gain their desire. They smile ...

The Boat Rider

Last month I went to Mt. Abu for a mini vacation with family(maternal). It is a hill station in Rajasthan state of India. We stayed there for nearly 4 days. People ask me,"What was the most memorable thing you did there or What fun did you had there ?", and they expect answers to this question such as "The Sunset point" - which is one of the best sunset point in India because it has a deep valley and the sky is clear and its really lovely to watch, or "The climate" - The climate there is really pleasant. Warm pleasant breeze in afternoon sandwiched by cool weather in mornings and evenings or to some extent "Greenery" which is exceptionally beautiful. My mom may have answered the above answers if she had her way.. but me, I like unique answers and my thinking is not totally what people tend to like or accept as general answers. Yes I did like "Away from the city" thing . But more over I was fascinated by the behaviour of a partic...

Harry Potter !!~!

Harry Potter, one of the most dynamic book series of this century. All kids want to be in Harry's shoes. The fantasy, magic world, wands, brooms, thestrals, flying, performing hexes ... isn't it what all want? Once you start reading he book, you cant really stop. The journey with Harry for 7 books is amazing.  I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone at the age of 6. My mind would flood every day imagining his life, dreaming the life of Harry and sometimes believing myself as Harry :P! After reading all the 7 books I started with its fan fiction on net. I was surprised to see that so many people had written awesome story about Harry's further life and they wrote really well. Some of them , I must say made a better story. One such fiction I came across almost a year ago. It was really hilarious and tragic end to Lord Voldemort. I will brief its concept down: Do you remember in fourth part ( Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire )  Lord Voldemort took Ha...

To The Gods

Image
Recently I have been reading a lot of Greek mythology . Its really as vast as any & also one of the most primary mythology. I instantly fell in love with the different characters in it and tried to reason out in day to day life . As it is said history repeats itself .  Let me tell you some of the basic myths and stories . According to Greek mythology , there was life before Gods . Before the Gods , Titans ruled the world . Titans the son of Uranus(sky) and Gaia (mother earth). Cronus is the Lord of Titan and also the most powerful , known as the Titan of time . He has scythe as his terrible weapon at his aide. Cronus and his wife Rhea had children known as Gods . When they were eggs Cronus tried to eat all three of them (viz Zeus , Poseidon & Hades ) because an oracle had predicted they would pose a threat to his domain. This shows his fear and hunger for power (it is same as written by Shakespeare in Macbeth) . But his wife couldn't see her children being killed . So...

LOOKS : First impression ??

"hey , u r looking really gorgeous in yur dp :] " "thank yu :D" And I smiled. I hope you must have guessed, I was texting to my collage friend on whatsapp. After this a sudden thought took the peace out of my mind. I noticed I never text any of my male friends for their good DP(display picture). I quickly opened my facebook account to see how many comments I have made on someones good DP. I found out that 90%+ of them were good looking girls and boys who are very popular in school and college. If you people must have noticed, there have been far more likes on a girl's picture than any boy's. Its not some stupid fact but a serious matter to think on. Are seriously they deserving so much amount of praise? What have they done? NOTHING. Absolutely nothing! Looks are gifted to them from their parents. And there is nothing ironical about it. Its outrageous that people tend to warm up with these small clique of good looking people, and you know what th...
