To The Gods
Recently I have been reading a lot of Greek mythology . Its really as vast as any & also one of the most primary mythology. I instantly fell in love with the different characters in it and tried to reason out in day to day life . As it is said history repeats itself .
Let me tell you some of the basic myths and stories . According to Greek mythology , there was life before Gods . Before the Gods , Titans ruled the world . Titans the son of Uranus(sky) and Gaia (mother earth). Cronus is the Lord of Titan and also the most powerful , known as the Titan of time . He has scythe as his terrible weapon at his aide. Cronus and his wife Rhea had children known as Gods . When they were eggs Cronus tried to eat all three of them (viz Zeus , Poseidon & Hades ) because an oracle had predicted they would pose a threat to his domain. This shows his fear and hunger for power (it is same as written by Shakespeare in Macbeth) . But his wife couldn't see her children being killed . So while he tried eating Zeus the third child Rhea replaced that egg with a rock. Zeus was secretly transported to a safe place where he grew up to be the powerful God of Sky as He is known today .He learned all art he could and also acquired a terrible weapon ( master bolt ) from his mother who wanted his father slain for killing eating his sons and for years of his evil deeds .Zeus threw the "master bolt" straight at the Titan ripping his body apart . Out came Poseidon and Hades who were still alive inside his stomach as they being God were immortal just as Cronus . All the three brothers together cut his body and scattered its remains in tartars .. a black hole where all the evil is found.
Today Zeus , lord of the skies , king of the Gods rules on this world with Queen Hera by his side and 12 Olympians . This story tells us that evil is always overcome . I do not believe too much in God and superstitions surrounding their talks but i believe or rather like to believe that there is a life force somewhere who gives us power , hope , faith and all the positive energy . Someone who takes care of thy children when you are not around .
Once I asked my dad ," Why is it that no one can tell whether God is there or not ?" , to which he replied " There are two questions both sides. Let me explain If God is there then why is EVIL present and if God is not there then how is everything else possible " . He raised a good point here . I still think about it .
If you get an answer to this please contact me . In search of truth !
