The Heart of a Woman
Shivangi and me were coming back home (I don't even remember when this was and where did we go that day :P). I bought coke from station. I love coke. ( PS: If I share my coke with you .. you are very special to me :P). It was about 7:30 in evening, completely dark, crowded station. There was this small kid who came to us begging. I hate beggars. At first they try to creep you out or tell false tails and I have been a victim of one such story and didn't want to look stupid so I just ignored the kid. He started asking for my coke and touching it. I didn't listen and went on. Shivu looked at him and then me in quick succession and tried telling me through eyes that probably you should give him that coke. After about a minute or 2 that kid spotted a different target and walked off after him.
"THWACK" .. we heard a slap and turned to see that kid being slapped by that guy for irritating him. Shivu closed her eyes and I started to tug her away from the scene. We walked few for about 100 meters, Shivu turns to me and says "Hetu .. I don't feel nice about that kid .. do you?". I felt a little bad too but not that much to go back. But this is Shivu, she just took my hand and made me go back to that spot. We bought coke, few biscuits and a bisleri for that kid and gave him. The smile on that kids face was no ordinary. I still remember every inch of that smile. I felt so much better I cannot express it. And of course the smile on Shivu's face ..
If it weren't for Shivu I would have just felt bit bad and would have let it go. You know what ,I am happy I did this. I slept peacefully that night.
Only a woman can make you do such things. Sometimes it is important to think by heart. My brain would say I lost 100 bucks on a beggar, my heart will say, I found relief, peace and happy thoughts and earned a smile which is priceless. Thank You Shivangi for making me do the right thing, for teaching me to show compassion towards everyone and not only friends & family.
Dedicated to ,
That kid ( forgot to ask name again .. sigh),

Such an important lesson... Hetansh...and how humble of you to give all credit to Shivangi....
The truth is that though we have eyes we so often refuse to see...
we have hearts that refuse to feel :)
