Bollywood : Stardom = Good actor

For a country obsessed with its film industry that produces over a thousand films every year , Filmfare awards have been a symbol of excellence . was started to appreciate talented actors . Actors such as Gurudatt , Raj Kapoor , Dilip Kumar , Bimal Roy ,  Amitabh Bachchan and many legends got their name and fame from here . They got recognition , better films to sign . And it all changed in 21st century ... 

Industry has been plagued with credibility issues and poor taste . Its hard to think of a year where masses and classes came together to applaud Filmfare jury for being fair for its choices . We understand that there will be disagreements when it comes to winner but as long as deserving artists are nominated , there is hope . Unfortunately , hope is not a word we associate with Bollywood awards.

While there are always rumours going around about how these awards are "earned' , we would like to believe that Filmfare is as legitimate as they come. This is single most reputed Indian film award to have sustained itself since 1954 . But then you see Sooraj Pancholi winning the Filmfare award for Best Debut (Male) over Masaan's Vicky Kaushal or Titli's Shashank Arora . ( Do watch these movies if you haven't ).

We saw Kajol return to the Silver screen with her Dilwale . So we take the next practical step and nominate her for best Actor (female) For Dilwale .Sonam Kapoor who's known for her acting skills was also nominated in the same category for Dolly ki Doli . * claps *

Have you noticed Shahrukh Khan has been nominated for Best Actor award every year since 2000 except in 2006 (  The jury must have been fired I guess ) . For what film ? Chennai Express , Dilwale , Jab Tak Hai Jaan , Don 2 , Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna ? Seriously ? I am not a Shahrukh Khan critic . His films , his choices . But just because he is Shahrukh Khan he has to be nominated for best actor award every year ? WHY ? Its not just about Shahrukh Khan , its about every star family kids . I am not saying they have it all easy . They may be having their fair share of hard-work and problems but giving them awards because they are from a famous family is insult of everyone remotely associated with films .

PS: Stop watching dumb movies .. even if it is of Shahrukh Khan , Amitab Bachchan .. give other small budget movies a chance to earn , to prove them-self , to establish them .. They need YOU !
